匈牙利科學(xué)院同位素研究所成立于1959年，于1964年開始生產(chǎn)放射性同位素。它成為匈牙利放射性同位素研究，開發(fā)和生產(chǎn)的主要中心。自1993年起，前研究所的一部分一直作為同位素研究所（IZOTOP）運(yùn)作。
